Benha University Biotechnology Incubator announces the launch of the first incubation cycle in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research through the “Intelaq” program to support technology incubators, in order to support promising ideas that can be transferred to emerging companies in the fields of biotechnology, believing in the necessity of creating a supportive environment for the innovators and creators of young researchers. Under the auspices of Dr. Jamal Sousse, President of the University, Dr. Mahmoud Saqr, President of the Academy, and Dr. Nasser Al-Jizawi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research.

For his part, Dr. Amr Al-Awamry, Executive Director of the incubator, stated that the incubation program consists of several stages:

Stage one: creative camp
At this stage, applicants are trained on the basic principles of entrepreneurship and the importance of creating ideas in a creative way that suits the needs of the market

The second stage: before incubation
Startups in the ideas stage join this stage, allowing them to work better on the commercial model and the prototype, while providing technical and financial support in total amounting to 20 thousand Egyptian pounds.

The third stage: incubation
Startups in the prototype stage join this stage, and to transform the model into a commercial application ready to be put on the market, technical and financial support will be provided in total, amounting to 200,000 Egyptian pounds.

At each stage, the quality of support varies according to the need, and laboratory equipment is provided to serve to accelerate the development wheel of companies, with the presence of specialized consultants and mentors, whether in the fields of biotechnology or the business model.
